I don't think it's a waste of time to see a doctor if you want healthcare advice, isn't that what they're there for
I am currently not in an relationship or particularly sexually active, but as a bisexual man I felt it would be a good idea to speak to my doctor about PrEP so that in the future I can decide if this is something I might want or need to take.
He looked at me so confused and just said something like "you don't need to worry about that at the moment" and then turned away shuffling papers and stuff on his desk...which felt like his way of saying 'this appointment is over, please leave'.
I had gone there for another reason so it's not like I was 'wasting his time' by just going in to ask questions. Having said that, I don't think it's a waste of time to see a doctor if you want healthcare advice, isn't that what they're there for?
Now I don't really feel comfortable going back to him for anything because he was so dismissive of a genuine health related question, one which is potentially life saving.
